ESW 2nd festive ride out on a frosty day.

A great turnout today with 15 riders. There was a mixture of bikes from road to MTB.

The weather was frosty asnd there was ice on the roads. With the sun rising in the sky by the time we set off the frost was disappearing in some places. We cautiously set off from Dornoch towards Clashmore and then on towards Bonar Bridge. The sun was shining on this side of the firth which made a pleasant ride. Feet were cold but there was still movement in the toes.

Once we got to Bonar we headed towards Ardgay and back down the otherside of the firth towards Edderton. The sun wasnt on this side yet so the feet started to freeze. However with mostly down hill and hardly any wind it made for a fast ride. The sea was like glass. The sun shining on the opposite side the hills were radiant. This created a perfect mirror image onto the water . It was beautiful and reminded you of why we love to be out on our bikes so much.

Once back to the A9 we then headed back towards Dornoch. By this time noone could feel their feet, so the faster we got back the better.

Thanks to Lillian and Ronnie for providng us with a warm house, hot tea and plenty of Chrismas biscuits and chocolates for everyone.  A picture below of some of the brave souls.
