Start

This is 1.7miles west from the Village hall situated near the Church of Scotland.

Route 5.5 miles total climb approx. 700ft

This is a uphill TT with some steep climbs in parts.  At 6 & 7 %

This starts at the junction 1.7 miles west of Pittentrail on the A839. Sign posted Little Rogart and Morness.  There is a large parking place for competitors to wait in.  The whole route is a single track road, The road is not closed so traffic laws do need to be followed.  The route then starts to climb straight away. There is a cattle grid 20 metres  after the start.  You then will then turn a sharp right followed by a sharp left and start one of the steepest part of the climb, It will be approx. 1 mile before there is some ease.  Keep to the left as you pass the Y junction going up the hill. These will be marshalled.  The route is then a mixture of undulating hills slowly ascending.  At 2.8miles West Langwell you will reach a T junction here you will turn right, This is a very sharp right on a hill. There may be oncoming traffic. A marshal will be there with a red flag to warn you if there is any oncoming traffic.  The route then ascends slowly with a few blind summits, so please ensure you keep to the left. You will then be able to pick up speed as you go along the more twisty flatter part of the route, The road surface is slightly rougher in places with a few potholes at the side of the road. Then continue to the crossroads, Turn left, The view of the crossroads is clear to see oncoming traffic but marshals will also be present.  Then once you turned left you will cycle approx. 100metrs and then you will turn right, signposted Knockarthur.  This is the last part of the climb it is approx .5m to the finish.

To get back  to the hall

Once over the finishing line continue down the otherside to the T junction. Please becareful as there are a few potholes and the road could have some mud and loose grit on it.  Turn Right at the T junction and continue back to the crossroads. Here take a left. (Do not go straight over as there maybe still cyclist coming up the alreay narrow road. ) This road will take you all the way back to the village, It takes  4.5miles. Do not turn off at Little Rogart,(On the right half way down), There is one short hill up to St Callums Church and the rest is extremely fast down hill on single track road and blind bends, Please be aware as there will be on-coming traffic. You will reach the crossroads at the “Pittentrail” pub where you will turn left back to the hall.
