A NEW cycling club has been formed in Golspie, the East Sutherland Wheelers (ESW).

It was formed to promote the benefits of cycling and to encourage local participation in the sport.

The club is open to new members and is off to a flying to start with 40 members so far.

ESW is holding three, weekly coaching sessions, beginning on 12 March, at the Golspie kart track, giving young people the opportunity to improve bike handling skills.

The sessions will cover group riding and bike handling skills including sprinting, cornering and obstacle courses, all helping to build the confidence and skills of the participants.

The course is aimed at the P4-P7 age group.

Spinning classes will be open to all and are due to start this autumn.
